LITERACY PROGRAMS
For adults and young learners
At Garizim Foundation, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in combating illiteracy in the Northern regions of Cameroon. By teaching them how to read, write and count, our volunteers help reduce the knowledge gap and open them to a world of opportunities. This is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
Helping young girls stay in school through MHM
With this initiative, our goal is to promote a healthy menstrual lifestyle for underprivileged girls. MHM is a serious issue in the Northern region of Cameroon, where poverty, taboos, and cultural stigmas prevent girls from living through their periods with dignity. With access to the right information and resources, girls can focus better on their education and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. VOLUNTEERISM WORKSHOPS
Promoting volunteerism
Volunteerism plays a critical role in building strong and cohesive societies. through volunteerism, youths gain skills and develop a sense of participation in local development. At Garizim we foster the spirit of volunteerism amongst youths by training and recruiting volunteers and organizing an annual volunteers conference during international volunteer week.
YOUTH SENSITIZATION
One Step at a Time
At Garizim foundation, we align with Martin Luther King Jr in believing that complete education is one that transmits not only power of concentration, but worthy objectives upon which to concentrate. The broad education will, therefore, transmit to one not only the accumulated knowledge of the race but also the accumulated experience of social living. In this light, we organise regular talks with youths to educate on topics of interest which can shape them into responsible citizens of the world.
